Darr & Collins, LLC Consulting Engineers (D&C) was established in 1995 by Chuck Darr, P.E. and David Collins, P.E.. D&C provides professional consulting engineering services with a focus on mechanical and electrical design. D&C is a multi-discipline firm with specialized skills in energy conservation renovation projects, institutional and health care environmental systems.

D&C has completed to date over 1,200 projects with a total construction value in excess of $1.2 billion. The firm’s strength lies in the ability of its professional staff to understand and synthesize the needs of the clients. Design-Build processes and Client Partnering are the strengths of our design team.

Because the mechanical and electrical aspects of building design are critical in developing a building that truly “works”, D&C utilizes state of the art computer systems to perform computer energy simulation analysis (CESA), load design, acoustic calculations, lighting footcandle analysis and iso-footcandle plots, electrical fault-current and short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations. This also allows the mechanical and electrical systems to enhance the buildings’ function and ambiance, with a minimum of intrusion.

D&C is dedicated to the team concept. In our opinion, our involvement from the very inception of the project helps provide the client with an efficient, high quality project. With the talents of its staff of registered engineers and designers, D&C creates an environment that is unobtrusive to the architectural ambiance, but more importantly, provides building MEP systems that enhance total productivity with trouble-free, “People-Sensitive” designs.

Correctional Facilities: Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Corrections Institute facilities, Forrest City, Arkansas ($86M), Pollock, Louisiana ($90M). Over 20 private prison projects located from Colorado to New Hampshire, each sized at typically 1200 – 1500 beds.

Health Care: Over 150 projects involving public and private facilities in states such as: Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Utah, Kansas, Mississippi, Arizona, Alabama, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Colorado. Projects include design for medical clinics, dialysis centers, ambulatory surgery centers, assisted living centers, and research laboratories.

Hospitals: Over 50 projects for such companies as: Integris Healthcare, Baptist Hospital, Parkview Hospital, Luke Air Force Base Hospital, Sierra Vista Cancer Center, Presbyterian Hospital, Hillcrest Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and Veterans Administration Hospital.

Educational: 100 projects involving public school districts, colleges and universities. Darr & Collins, LLC Consulting Engineers is the on-call consultant for the University of Central Oklahoma. Darr & Collins is the on-call consultant for the Francis Tuttle Vocational Technology school system. Additional clients include: University of Oklahoma (Law School Facility Renovation), Oklahoma Christian University of Science and Arts, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Ida Freeman Gymnasium, Space Camp, Shawnee School District, Coweta School District, Oklahoma City Public School District, St. Gregory’s Catholic University, Mid-Del School District, and Edmond Public Schools.

Governmental: projects for local, state and federal government including 30 projects as prime consultants for State of Oklahoma “On-Call” Services. Other clients include: Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Marshal's Service, Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City Army Reserve, Robins Air Force Base, Naval Training Facility, Luke Air Force Base, Sheppard Air Force Base, Hill Air Force Base, State of Oklahoma Department of Central Services are also clients.
